Since the opening of our website in 2005, the Cherryblossom Garden has had a very small but dedicated staff. The general maintenance and coding required to keep this site updated has been taking up most of my time, and most of the original staff is now inactive. In order to keep adding new content and increase our coverage of the J-Pop scene I am looking to fill some staff positions. Please be aware before applying for a staff position that this is volunteer work; this is a non-profit website and is mostly funded by personal funds. Applicants must be self-motivated!
We are currently looking to fill the following positions:
J-Pop News Reporter
In order to further develop our News Blog we are looking for 1 or 2 people to make news posts.
Applicants must be fluent in the English language, have a good understanding of Japanese and must be capable of doing their own research. As news reporter you can post as
many news stories as you want, as long as the news is relevant to the Japanese music scene. No knowledge of HTML is required, but some experience with Blogging software is definitely a plus.
Reporters can get their own ‘@cherryblossom-garden.com’ email address with 3 Gigabyte storage as an incentive.
Please send me an email if you are interested in becoming one of our reporters.
Music Critics
We are currently setting up a brand new blog to replace our old Review section with, and we need people to review releases for us. If you enjoy listening to Japanese music, are
fluent in the English language and would love for people to read your opinions on the latest releases then this position is for you. No knowledge of HTML is required, but some experience with Blogging software is definitely a plus.
Reviewers can get their own ‘@cherryblossom-garden.com’ email address with 3 Gigabyte storage as an incentive.
Please send me an email if you are interested in becoming one of our reviewers.
Translators
The general maintenance of this site is taking up so much of my time that I rarely even get to translate songs anymore. Therefore I would to have at least one other translator join
our staff who can contribute translations on a regular basis. A firm grasp of the Japanese language is the most important requirement for this position, and some experience with
actual translating would not hurt either. Translators can get their own ‘@cherryblossom-garden.com’ email address with 3 Gigabyte storage as an incentive.
If you are interested in this position please email me a sample translation (doesn’t have to be a song translation,
just something that can show me what you’re capable of.
